Institute for Research in Economics and Business Administration

Institute for Research in Economics and Business Administration

The objective of SNF (Institute for Research in Economics and Business Administration) is to carry out contract research and promote applied research within the fields of economics, business administration and related research areas, both nationally and internationally. SNF is made up of five research centra, one of which is explicitly devoted to fisheries economics. The researchers who work at SNF are partly people employed by SNF itself and partly professors at Norges Handelshøyskole who work for SNF on a part time basis. SNF has previously undertaken many different research projects dealing with fisheries as well as with oil and gas. The Norwegian Research Council is the main source of funding, but some funding also comes from projects undertaken for industry and for the government of Norway, as well as the European Union.
